The official language in Bulgaria is Bulgarian. English, German, French and Russian are spoken to a high standard by 60 % of the young people.
Signs along international motorways, in airports and resorts are also spelled in Roman letters.

Interesting fact:
The history of the alphabet dates from the second half of the ninth century, when the brothers Cyril and Methodii developed it.
