The average sale price for a sq m of residential property in Bulgaria reached 1090 leva in 2007, a 30 per cent increase over the 840 leva from a year previously. The overall price hike of residential properties for the last three years is 300 per cent, Kapital weekly reported.
Despite the price increase, the number of property deals went up with 10 per cent. Real estate agencies told Kapital Weekly the period between an apartment offer publication and signing a deal has dropped to less than a month.

Bulgaria's National Social Security Institute (NSSI) decided to increase the minimal pension as of October 1 2007.
The changes envision a reduction of social security installment from 23 to 22 per cent on a pensions fund for people born before January 1 1960, and from 18 to 17 per cent for people born after December 31 1959.
Social security installments to the unemployment fund will be reduced from three per cent to one per cent, NSSI said as quoted by Bulgarian National Radio.

The emergency healthcare system in Bulgaria will be completely restored, said Bulgarian Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski.
At the moment, the plan for restoring Bulgaria's medical centers, which will cost an estimated 70 million leva, is being drafted.
EU structural funds will provide the sum.
The minister made this announcement during a ceremony to initiate a force of 34 off-road ambulances to 28 Bulgarian medical centers, worth three million leva, according to Focus news agency.

A new trade centre will be constructed in Sofia's Malinova Dolina residential district opposite Business Park Sofia.
Investment will total 168 million euro, the investor in the project Forum Sofia Ltd said as quoted by investor.bg.
Trade centre Forum Sofia will cover an area of 170 000 sq m. It will be a mixed trade entertainment centre 88 000 sq m of which will be given for rent.

Russia is pressuring Bulgaria and Greece to sell their shares in the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline by attaching new conditions for financial responsibility in case the two countries fail to fulfil their quotas for the pipeline.
